Oatlands Close - A Milenium Project
To celebrate the year 2000, many milenium projects were initiated over the length and breadth of the country. A few failed to reach their intended goal but, fortunately, Oatlands had tenacious and gifted people involved in one of its projects.
David and Janet Foster compiled "Our Local History - to 2000AD" for the area around where they lived - Oatlands Close, High Pine Close and Woodland Way.
The result of their efforts ran to over a hundred pages of well researched history and a permanent record of what was discovered by householders - without their efforts and the contributions of their neighbours, the history of that part of Oatlands would be missing a unique chapter.
